Did you know the BPI (The record company representative body) has actually joined forces with the Music Server Providers (AOL, Yahoo, Apple iTunes, Napster) and the mobile phone networks (Orange, Vodafone, O2, T-Mobile) in an attack on the music writers collection society (MCPS/PRS Alliance) in order to reduce the money paid to artist/writers by at least 30% on digitally distributed music? Did you know that in the vast majority of cases the record companies do not pay through income derived from videos played on digital (19 channels and climbing!) and terrestial stations via the collection society VPL despite the fact that artists pay 100% of the video costs under standard contracts.
